Responsible Play (Responsible Gambling)
ZilchPlay.com is committed to helping users play safely. If play stops being fun, support is available in New Zealand.
Practical ways to stay in control
- Set time limits: decide a finish time before you start; use device screen-time tools and alarms.
- Set spend limits (including in-app purchases): only spend what you can afford to lose; consider app-store purchase limits and notifications.
- Take breaks: schedule short breaks and avoid chasing losses or playing when tired, stressed, or using alcohol/drugs.
- Reality checks: regularly review your play history and spending to ensure it matches your intentions.
- Keep balance: maintain hobbies, sleep, work/study, and relationships outside play.
Cool-off and self-exclusion
If you need a break, you can:
- Use in-product controls (if available): check your Account/Settings for options like play-time reminders, spending limits, cool-off, or account deactivation.
- Contact us to restrict access: email contact@zilchplay.com with the subject “Cool-off/Self-exclusion”. Include the account email/username and the duration you want (e.g., 24 hours, 7 days, 6 months, or indefinite).
- Reduce access on your device: consider uninstalling the app and using device/app-store restrictions to prevent reinstallation or purchases.
Note: a cool-off/self-exclusion request applies to your ZilchPlay account access. It may not affect third-party payment providers, app stores, or other sites.
Warning signs
- Spending more time or money than planned, or trying to win back losses.
- Borrowing, selling items, or hiding play/spending from others.
- Feeling anxious, guilty, or unable to stop.
